If you haven't read part 1 and 2, this 3rd post is about the third creative set and character we created for our circus themed creative styled photo session with my Elite Spokesmodel Team, class of 2017. We stayed as a group at the stunning Rancho Mirando in Fischer, TX. Our weekend retreat included my Elite team and their moms, as well as a support team of our hair and makeup artist, the talented McKenna Bailey of Glow By Mac, her mom, the sought-after senior photographer from the Houston area, Lori from Visible Soul Photography, and a former Elite Spokesmodel from the class of 2016 who served as our social media director and videographer for the weekend, the lovely Allye B.
Our third set consisted of a fun geometric patterned background using fabric panels found at IKEA, along with our crushed red velvet curtains. Westwood High School spokesmodel Kayla G. played our beautiful Circus Ballerina in an unforgettable ivory lace corset dress we found at Lucy In Disguise in Austin. McKenna expertly executed the perfect doll face makeup - complete with under eye lashes and freckles. We added a custom made fascinator feather hair piece I designed myself, along with delicate pearl and silver jewelry borrowed from my personal collection.
The lace parasol was purchased on Amazon, and then tea stained before the shoot to give it that vintage, ivory look. Kayla's hair was left natural and a side braid was added opposite the fascinator to keep her beautiful wild curls out of her face.
After photographing her for a bit using the indoor set, we took advantage of the picturesque property of Rancho Mirando for some dramatic outdoor images. The house design and landscaping created the perfect backdrop for our ballerina.
Kayla was amazing to work with, and I absolutely adore her images. Stay tuned to the last installment of this amazing weekend retreat and creative shoot, where I will share the portraits we created during our mother/daughter sessions!
Thanks for looking!
~Dawn
