To recap: Last July the Dawn Fry Photo Elite Spokesmodel Team participated in a fun mother/daughter retreat. We stayed for the weekend in the luxurious home, Rancho Mirando, in the hills of Fischer, TX. The spokesmodels participated in an amazing professionally styled theme shoot, complete with professional hair and makeup, costumes, and unique designed sets. The second day of our stay the models and their moms got to participate in a mother/daughter portrait session, to commemorate their time together and create lasting memories of this special time. It was an amazing and memorable experience.
The second spokesmodel photographed on our Elite Spokesmodel Retreat Circus Themed Shoot was the lovely, Sophia, from Vandegrift High School. Sophia's role was as our Knife Thrower's Assistant. Her costume for the role was also rented from Lucy In Disguise in Austin. It was a simple burgundy and black corset top paired with Sophia's own black pants. Lace up boots were also rented for this occasion.
For the backdrop, we used a cloth garden target game board (found on Amazon), that was "pinned" to the striped painter's cloth using small ball head earrings. In some of the post-editing of the images, I removed the blue, red, and yellow stripes to create a black and white target look.
White frilly sleeves (found at IKEA) were spray-painted black, and the fascinator headband with top hat and veil was purchased through Amazon. We hot glued a retractable trick knife blade to the fake apple.
McKenna created a dramatic smokey eye and slicked back hair for this look. We wanted hair to be minimal (so as not to distract the knife thrower *wink*) but still dramatize Sophia's look with bold makeup.
Sophia was awesome.
Our third spokesmodel look and set for this shoot was by far the most complicated. I can't wait to show that one to you in the next few days. Thanks for watching!
~Dawn
