One of the awesome perks of being a spokesmodel with Dawn Fry Photo is the fun group shoots we do. We pick themes throughout the year, and everyone dresses according to the theme for the shoot. Some themes are pretty simple, like patriotic, back to school, and boho, but some are a little more complex. The theme for this particular shoot was "Decades" where the girls could dress up as any decade they wanted to. Unfortunately on this day, it was pretty dreary and rainy, but thankfully 2 of my most awesome spokesmodels decided to brave the rain with me and do the shoot anyway. The most fun part was that they dressed in totally different decades, the 40's and 50's, so we had a clashing yet fun mix of styles to photograph.
Shelby, one of my Vandegrift High School spokesmodels, dressed as Sandy from the movie, Grease. Her look was perfect and suited her fun, quirky personality. Grease is one of my favorite all time movie/musicals, so I about died when Shelby showed up in this incredible ensemble. She was perfection.
Alyssa, another Vandegrift High School spokesmodel, totally rocked this 40's outfit. I absolutely LOVED her dress, well placed broach, and the fascinator in her hair. Alyssa is always an absolute dream to photograph, and her time with me before her actual senior shoot several months later, really prepared her for knocking her senior photos out of the park. She is a stunning beauty anyway, both inside and out, and it is such a joy photographing her every time I see her.
For this shoot we enjoyed photographing on location in downtown Round Rock, and after walking around for a bit found this amazing little bright blue building that made me squeal with joy. Finding a great background is always a bonus, and the girls looked amazing in front of the blue.
The moral of the story is - never let a drizzly day ruin your photo plans, and always, always be bold enough to express your fun side. Even if your styles may clash, you can still create something great.
