Our first ever Dawn Fry Photo Holiday Family Mini Sessions Fundraiser Event benefiting Safe In Austin's Rescue was a huge success! We were so blessed to meet so many wonderful families, and enjoyed them coming out to support our efforts. Over the course of 4 shooting days, we created fabulous memories for 17 families, had countless laughs, used MANY boxes of dog treats to entice the pigs, held chickens, received slobbery puppy kisses, and overall had a blast. There were many laughs, tons of smiles, some happy tears, and lots of love.
We even had a couple of days of rain and dark clouds. But thankfully it didn't stop us from capturing beautiful portraits!
A few days before our fundraiser event began, a very special Dawn Fry Photo Spokesmodel from Vandegrift High School, Shelby H, organized an amazing donation drive to collect supplies for the rescue. They collected bedding, treats, collars, cleaning supplies, and much much more. Shelby brought everything to the ranch herself. It was an amazing achievement and I am so proud of her and blessed to have her on our spokesmodel team. Check out all the goodies!
And now for the best part! When we decided to do this fundraiser, my goal was to raise enough money to pay off outstanding vet bills that the rescue had, to alleviate the burden of the debt in time for the holidays. If you follow the Safe In Austin page on Facebook, you know that they recently rescued Spotty Girl and she delivered a litter of puppies. Spotty girl was found to have heart worms among other ailments, and now that the puppies are weaned and being adopted, the rescue will need to pay for heartworm treatment and spaying of this sweet dog. She will be able to now live out her life happy and loved and not ever have to worry again about where she is going to sleep or enduring another pregnancy. However, with this responsibility also comes more vet bills in the near future, so I really wanted to allow the rescue to move on to the next challenge without the dark cloud of past debt hanging over them.
I am so happy to report that we sold enough sessions to cover half of the vet bill debt. I am even more pleased to report that, with the help of our happy families purchases of prints and products, I was able to donate the remaining profit from the event sales to pay off the bill ENTIRELY! I cannot express how grateful I am to everyone who came out and supported this event - YOU made this possible.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. Thank you to the families that came out for a session, to those that donated to the supply drive at Vandegrift, to Shelby for organizing the drive, to my DFP Spokesmodel team members who passed out fliers, posed for promo images, and promoted the event on Facebook. Thank you to all the friends and family who supported us in so many ways. Our efforts combined for great success.
All my love,
Dawn
